One of Altered's founding tenets is to bring exceptional people together to succeed. Join us for an evening of drinks and canapés with the Altered network, insights from the front lines of a start up from Roofbuddy Founder and CEO, James Logan, and a keynote presentation from Mike Taylor, Founder and CIO of Pie Funds. Mike will cover the story behind building one of New Zealand's leading investment firms before turning to a defining investment question of today: "Is AI in a bubble?"

Founder & CEO · Roofbuddy

James is a serial entrepreneur with an excellent record in tech-enabled trade services. He founded his first company at just 23, which he scaled and exited to Private Equity. Following multiple successful ventures, James is now building Roofbuddy, a digital marketplace for roofing, and an Altered portfolio company.

Mike Taylor

Founder & CIO · Pie Funds

Mike founded Pie Funds in 2007 on the thesis that most active managers were chronic underperformers. He launched into the GFC, posted over 100% returns in 2009, and has since built Pie to more than $2.5 billion under management across Auckland, Sydney, and London. Pie was early to AI, taking a position in Nvidia in late 2022 and backing the infrastructure layer before the hype.
